Visit Places in Jaipur

The capital city of the western state of Rajasthan, jaipur is also the largest and most popular city in the state. Hawa Mahal

Hawa Mahal is essentially a high screen wall which was built so that the women of the Royal household could enjoy witnessing the festivities on the streets without being seen from the outside. The monument still is one of the most popuar monuments in the city of Jaipur along with Amer Fort and is thronged by every tourist stepping into the land.


Amer Fort

Timings: 8 am to 6 pm | All days of the week

Best time to visit: During Light shows (7 pm to 9 pm)

Amer Fort is undoubtedly the chief attraction in the city of Jaipur and is frequented by tourists all year round in uncountable numbers. The foreign tourists have a special interest in the fort as the interiors of the fort are said to be one of a kind. The fort is situated atop a hill and the ride from the bottom to the top is ideally made over elephants which is again one of the most loved attraction of the destination. 


Jantar Mantar

Best time to visit: A bright afternoon

Situated in close vicinity to the Hawa Mahal, Jantar mantar or Observatory is another interestin destination in the Pink city. The complex of Jantar Mantar was made by Raja Sawai jai Singh and has 19 scientific instruments bbuilt out of brick and mortar which are of very high astronomical value. The site also has world’s largest sundial which is known as ‘Samrat Yantra’.


City Palace

Best time to visit: Late morning

This humongous palace complex has a number of different structures including Maharani Palace, Diwan-I-Khas, Mubarak mahal, Govindji Temple, Diwan-I-Aam, Pitam Vilas Mahal and more. The palace was built around 1729 to 1731. Some of the portion of the palace is still occupied by the descendants of the Maharajas and some of it is open to visitors during fixed hours.


Birla Temple

Timings: 6 am to 12 pm and 3 pm to 9 pm | All days of the week

Best time to visit: During sunset

This renowned temple is dedicated to Hindu Lord Vishnu and is also known popularly as Laxmi Narayan Mandir. The entire temple is built in marble and is located in the heart of the city. The temple holds statues of Goddess Laxmi and Lord Vishnu and the exterior walls have carvings depicting various cultures.
