Bharatpur is the city  best known for the Keoladeo Bird spieces where some of the rarest species of birds beautiful the skies and find natural home for them. It  is also known as bird paradise and it is the eastern gateway of Rajasthan. Bharatpur is located 50 Kilometers towards the west of Agra. The tourists can easily accesss the places like Delhi, jaipur,Agra  and Bharatpur. And it also shares the border with Gurgaon district of Haryana in the north and Mathura and Agra Districts of UP in the east. Bharatpur is named after Bharat the younger brother of Lord Ram, the another brother, was given most pretigious position of the family in Bharatpur.

Chief attractions of Bharatpur

Bharatpur is the home for birds and it is the worlds best known bird watching destination here. In the 18th century, Maharaja Suraj Mal captured the fort of the Bharatpur by conquer Khemkaran, the rival chieftain and laid the foundation for Bharatpur.

BHARATPUR PALACE AND MUSEUM

BHARATPUR PALACE AND MUSEUM is located n the premises of Bharatpur Palace is KamraKhas, a museum that has many unique number of antiques, almost 581 stone sculptures, 860 local art and craft wares and also the ancient scriptures that depict the art and the culture of typical Bharatpur. The palace was built in stages by various Maharajas with the perfect blend of fusion of Mughal and Rajput architecture. The various places in the palace have a variety of highly riched patterned floor tiles decorated with the exquisite designs.

 

KEOLADEO NATIONAL PARK 


Keoladeo National Park (KNP) is beautiful bird sanctuary and national park  and it has been long recognised as one of the world’s most important bird breeding and feeding grounds. During the Monsoon season the one-third of the park will be submerged, hosting over many species within its 29 square kilometer. And the best time to visit the park is from October to February, Once upon a time it was reserved as royal hunting during 1850's and a game reserve for Kings and the britishers. In fact Lord Linlithgrow the viceroy of India from 1936 to 1943 had shot over thousands of Ducks in his hunting party in a single day. In 1942 KNP was declared as national park and then again later it was declared as World Heritage site by UNESCO in 1985. The park is home to over 360  +spieces of birds and animals.

 

Lohagarh Fort

The name and place of this fort is magnificient, Lohagarh Fort has many attacks by the Britishers, but it was ultimately captured by Arthur Wellesley. It is also called as Iron Fort. Where Lohagarh Fort differs from others is that it is not enough confident, but as emit  an atmosphere of rocky strength. The fort is surrounded by the castle which used to be filled with water to keep enemies out of the fort. There are many interesting monuments inside the fort are KothiKhas, MahalKhas, MotiMahal and KishoriMahal. Raja Suraj Mal built JawaharBhurj and FatehBhurj to mark victories over the Mughals and the Britishers.

 

DHOLPUR PALACE

The Dholpur Palace has been renonwned across the country in the world for its sandstone originally it has been belonged to the Rajput Kingdom. The red stone which is widely used in the construction of the forts and palces to mark it as a protection around the widely spread dominons. The palace is full of classic exteriors and the rich hertitage of the monument is powerfully to the people who eye witness and invites themselves for the journey of the sparkling history of the palace.
