Taj Mahal 

The ultimate crowned jewel of India’s architectural heritage, Taj Mahal is one of the seven wonders of the modern world and is thronged by tourists in uncountable numbers. The mausoleum was built in the memory of the Mughal ruler Shah Jahan’s wife Mumtaz Mahal and is regarded as ‘The symbol of Love’ across the world.

Agra Fort

This fort built entirely in red sandstone has been the royal residence of Mughal Dynasty for over 200 years of their rule in India. Later, the capital of Mughal Dynasty was shifted from Agra to Delhi and a similar fort in red sandstone was erected in Delhi, the Red Fort. This monument is referred to as the sister monument of Taj Mahal.


Also known as ‘The Baby Taj’, this monument is said to be the draft of Taj Mahal. This is because it was the first monument which was built entirely in white marble which gave way to the Taj Mahal later. Before this, all monuments were generally built in red sandstone. The overall structure of the monument resembles with that of Taj Mahal except that this is slightly smaller in size.

Sadar Bazar

Sadar Bazar is one of the most popular shopping destinations for the tourists visiting Agra. Located near the Agra Cantt railway station, Sadar Bazar is a crowded market which is visited by nearly every tourist that land in Agra. The market has shops of every genre like handicrafts, garments, leather shops and sweet stores selling those exquisite Agra Ke Pethas.

Akbar’s Tomb

A humongous palace which houses the mortal remains of the notorious Mughal emperor, Akbar, is situated in small setting, Sikandara in the outskirts of Agra. The fort is an amazing architectural masterpiece spread across 119 acres and is a must visit place for everyone visiting Agra.
